Abstract

The first prose version of the Roman de Troie was composed, according to its epilogue, in Corinth, in Frankish Greece, and, based mainly on internal criteria, this too is the hypothesis of critics. The present contribution aims to examine this location on the basis of surviving manuscripts and their circulation as well as to propose a linguistic analysis of the oldest copy, Paris BnF fr. 1612.
