Marco Polo e gli Assassini: "mouvance" testuale, costruzione narrativa e (ri)elaborazione della leggenda
Abstract
The article aims at analysing the chapter dedicated to the Old Man of the Mountain in the oldest redactions of Marco Polo and and Rustichello’s Devisement dou monde. The aim is thus on the one hand to outline the original silhouette of the account and on the other to follow the choices of the various editors in relation to the individual narrative segments and information cores – all against the backdrop of the relationship between the legend of the Assassins in its various forms and the historical reality to which it refers.
